Ideas Development

This weekend I am heading to Sheffield to spend the weekend with my best friend, who shall be the subject of my photoshoot I am to do for this beginning project. The colour black is still my subject and so I am here to share my thought processes for this photoshoot and my journey to creating my final images.

This particular post is just the brainstorming, the creating will come later.

Firstly, I thought about the main things that come to mind when I think of black in fashion.

- Luxury/wealth/glamour

- Death/Mourning/Horror

- Mystery

- Shadows/silhouettes

- Confidence/power

- Artistic

- Black and White

These are all where I began my ideas development.

I then continued onto spider diagrams to display my ideas, and how I could translate these ideas into images.

I am currently in favour of the glamour and the silhouette ideas.

As this is only our first, mini project our resources are minimal, and my lecturers said how we don't need to worry about fabulous sets and top quality cameras, this is about ideas, development and creating; so they can see how we think, what we think and what we're good at. And so, I am to be using my best friend's bedroom as my studio, my desk lamp as my lighting and my iPhone as my camera. Taking all of this into consideration, shadows/silhouettes are simple, visually effective and don't take a lot of setting. The glamour idea is also possible, so I think I need to buy some black silk gloves, and we can have a play around with that too.

I have a feeling this weekend shall be interesting and creative, and as I shall be with my best friend I know for a fact it will be a hoot and a half.

Ta Ta for now, my Lovelies.

Miss Blue
