"It aims to divide a larger customer base into smaller subgroups that share similar needs and characteristics." - Posner.
Within a seminar I had recently we looked at consumer segmentation. This is something I have come across in many subjects I have studied; looking at demographics and psychographics. But, as I am in university now, we look at it in a deeper way. We look at consumer zodiacs and consumer archetypes, and all this is very interesting. I won't go on about what they all are, but I will leave these bullet points to help to understand what we're looking at.
- Demographic : age, gender, occupation, income, education, social class, family size, ethnic group/race, nationality.

- Psychographic : Interests, opinions, activities/hobbies, personality, self image, values, attitude, beliefs/religion.
- Consumer Zodiacs

- Consumer Archetypes

Within the seminar we did this quiz. This was to find out what consumer archetypes we fall under. Now I found my results really quite accurate.

I found taking this quiz and sharing the whole classes findings really interesting. Within a class of around 20, I was the only one who got performer of any sort which I found weird, especially in a class of fashion 'communication' students. However, almost everyone had creative as their highest percentage, and pretty much everyone had caregiver. I guess with a group of people studying the same subject, they would have similar archetype qualities. I'd love to do it with a collection of students studying different things and see what all the results are then.
If you wanna give the quiz a go, head on over to https://www.archetypes.com/quiz/ Go find out your archetype!!!
This wasn't to be a long blog, just wanted to share some things, and show you my archetype, because why not.
Ta Ta for now, My Lovelies.
