Pink Kitten

The other day I was at the cinema. I am a huge fan of adverts and trailers; so I was set with my popcorn watching the usual car and phone ads, until this random campaign came on. When it first began I had no idea what was happening, I was just seeing a panning shot of a busy street, until it asked me if I had seen the pink kitten. I had not. And so it reversed to the beginning, where it then started again, but in slow motion, giving me time to find all of the pink kittens hidden within the scene. There was one graffitied on a wall, a neon sign one in a window, a statue outside a shop, and many others, until it came to one on a phone screen, where a man was looking at it, whilst driving his car. The shot then continued to in front of the car, where a woman was cowering in the middle of the road with her child, about to be struck by the car. It was only then that I realised this was a campaign for road safety. This video was showing how much can happen in so little time, and that even glancing at your phone while driving is extremely dangerous, you can miss so much.

I absolutely loved this campaign video. It caught my attention straight away, by almost giving me a game of spot the pink kitten. This was both entertaining and confusing because I had no idea what it had to do with. Then the revealing of the car happened so subtly, it wasn't until I payed complete attention to what I was actually looking at, instead of just spying for pink kittens, that I realised what was happening. This made me think a great deal. I am a very safe driver, if I do say so myself, but this made my values of road safety even more relevant. So many people text whilst driving, check their notifications, change their music, and this video exposed them all to the reality of it. I think it is very clever and makes a great point whilst getting people to actually watch it.

I think everyone should check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmcbxgBZbr0

Ta Ta for now, My Lovelies.
